University Advancement : Associate Director of Employer Engagement, Career Advisor Code: 199207 Associate Director of Employer Engagement, Career Advisor Job Code 199207 University Advancement Full-time/ 40 hours/ 12- months Clark University?s University Advancement Office seeks to fill the position of Associate Director of Employer Engagement, Career Advisor. As a member of the Career Development and Employer Engagement & Connections team, the Associate Director will support the Director of Employer Engagement in building and leading a robust strategy to cultivate internship and job opportunities for successful student launch. The Associate Director will build a portfolio of strong relationships between local and regional employers and the University and serve as principal contact for these connections; Develop and maintain a robust and competitive pipeline of internship, part-time and full-time employment opportunities for undergraduate students. Additionally, the Associate Director will oversee virtual and on-campus employer recruiting activities and guiding services and cultivate and maintain relationships as a liaison between students, alumni, employer representatives, faculty, staff and departments. Duties and Responsibilities: ?Associate Director of Employer Engagement- Employer engagement and campus recruiting: ?Initiate and cultivate relationships with local and regional employers, alumni, campus partners, and community stakeholders to grow the number of high-quality internship and employment opportunities. Act as an ambassador for Clark University?s Career Development and Employer Engagement & Connections offices. ?Serve as primary relationship manager for local and regional employers; maintain records of current employer contacts. ?Negotiate nature of the employer/college relationship and appropriateness of services/referrals. ?Oversee all on-campus recruiting activities and events and provide coordination and guidance to campus partners that lead recruiting events such as the Graduate School of Management. ?Create and deliver workshops, networking events, and engaging programs to meet evolving needs of undergraduate students with emphasis on both the academic and industry search. ?Program management: ?Advise employers and other entities on recruiting strategies, policies and guidelines. ?Monitor industry trends in order to help shape priorities for the development of new programs and services, as well as employer partnerships. ?Contribute to the design, creation and maintenance of print and online employer/partner resources. ?Direct day-to-day operation of Handshake, Clark?s online career opportunity and event management platform, as it relates to employer engagement and analytics, and event management for recruiting programs and activities, within the Career Development and Employer Engagement & Connections Office. ?Provide logistical support for employers for all types of recruiting events. ?Create and generate reports for employer engagement dashboard and University metrics. ?Direct service to student and contribution to mission- Student advising: ?Advise undergraduate students on: identifying appropriate academic and career options, assessing and exploring those options, and developing concrete academic and career goals. ?Advises students on negotiation of offers, overall ethical/professional conduct, resume/cover letter writing, informational interviewing, interview preparation, time management, and interview cancellations. Handles student feedback on questionable employer behavior or activities. ?Monitor student progress toward individual and institutional goal of student launch. ?Responds to e-mail, phone and in-person inquiries from current students. Advise or refer them appropriately. ?Maintains student files and records. ?Collaborate and present career-related programming and job-search strategies workshops for undergraduate students across all majors. ?Other contributions and duties as assigned: ?Attend and participate in all staff meetings and training. ?Assist with the planning and coordination of advancement events such as regional networking events and alumni in residence. ?Participate in professional development activities and associations. ?Maintain knowledge of career resources. Qualifications: ?Bachelor?s degree required; Master?s preferred ?Three to five years of experience in career development, recruiting, human resources, or related field. ?Experience with college recruiting, from a higher education or a business perspective. ?Ability to work productively within a high functioning team. ?Demonstrated experience in counseling, teaching, event management skills, and experience working with diverse cultures is important. ?Experience working with diverse populations and an ability to guide diverse individuals toward future opportunities. ?Strong oral and professional communication skills, demonstrated abilities in interpersonal relations, presentation and public speaking skills, strategic planning and decision making ability, and problem solving skills. ?Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience in leveraging technology to deliver programming, and familiarity with web based recruitment tools and resources such as LinkedIn and Glassdoor. ?One evening per week required. Appropriately manages confidential information and sensitive situations. ?Prior experience with database-related software and/or demonstrated ability to learn and use new software. ?Uses software to collect and manage data, solve problems using data, and generate reports. ?Occasional independent travel is required. ________________________________________ This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 month position with excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, 4 weeks? vacation, generous retirement plan, free use of campus fitness center and many more.
